Planets going into Retrograde

Category: Space / Astronomy

It is said that planets are known to go into retrograde, what exactly is retrograde and what effect does it have on the solar system?

Viewed from Earth, Planets are said to undergo retrograde motion when they appear to reverse their slow motion through the constellations for a short period of time. This occurs
when the Earth is passing them in their orbit. Since the
retrograde motion is only the planet's motion relative to the Earth, it has no effect on the solar system.
