Why is wind energy not more widely accepted? We know it works and there's plenty of wind along shorelines.

Wind energy is erratic, and there are few ways to store energy when it's not needed immediately. Wind energy also takes impractically large amounts of land to build in quantities to rival a coal or nuclear power plant.
