Blood filtration happens in our kidneys at the beginning of the process of forming urine. The filter, called the Bowman's capsules, allows water, salts, and other small molecules through while not allowing bigger things like proteins and cells through. Thus, in a very literal sense, it is filtering the blood. Your entire supply of blood gets filtered about once every 4 minutes.
