How many planets are there?

Rating
+ 0 -
Well there use to be 9 planets, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. Although in August 2006 the International Astronomical Union decided that Pluto would no longer be a major planet but would be a member of the new category known as "dwarf planets" joining the other dwarf planets Eris and Ceres.
